Safety

At RG Construction, safety comes first. Our safety program was developed with input from all of our stakeholders and has the full commitment of management. We constantly monitor our program to ensure that we stay ahead of OSHA standards.

As a self-insured employer we are committed to making sure our employees have both the equipment and skills to perform their jobs in the safest manner possible. Our goal is to eliminate both near misses and incidents/injuries to our employees and others who are in proximity to us.

Safety Stats

Safety Training

Our safety program starts before an employee even steps foot on the job. During the initial employee hiring orientation our employees are required to watch our company safety video, which we produced to specifically address the critical safety requirements for our scopes of work.

Safety training does not stop after an employee’s initial orientation. Prior to a project start, our project team develops a Site Specific Safety Plan for each project including a detailed Job Hazard Analysis for each scope of work performed. This safety plan is then used by the superintendent and site foreman as the starting point to communicate the safety requirements to our onsite employees. We also conduct weekly toolbox talks for all employees on the job, which are led by our foreman. Likewise our foreman and field superintendents use our safety video as a refresher before we perform certain scopes of work, as well as for retraining should one of our employees not be performing their job properly.

We work closely with our outside safety consultants at Hub International, who monthly performs random jobsite inspections to ensure that our employees are following the safety training they received, as well as to serve as a constant resource to our employees as unique situations arise where we need to identify the best way to perform our work in a safe manner. We also use our safety consultant and our other key vendors to provide needed certification training to our employees for such things as scaffolding, boom lifts, rigging, etc.

Finally, we periodically hold safety seminars for all foreman and field crews. The best part of these seminars are the interactions that takes place between our employees as they share lessons learned on the job.
